Kolukkumalai is a peak 40 kms away from Munnar town and is known for the organic tea plantations cultivated at the highest point on earth. The tea plants are cultivated organically and processed in an orthodox method set almost a century ago.
Our driver will receive you at the resort at Munnar at around 4:00 am and will travel to Suryanelli, a small town before we embark the off road journey to Kolukkumalai. The vehicle will be an open jeep so that you can experience the nature at it’s best.
Wrap your warm clothes and ready for the adventure. The next 90 minutes ride through boulder to boulder through the tea plantations will be an amazing one. Visit “Meesapulimala”, the highest point to capture some amazing photos.
The tour is completed with a visit to the tea factory where the workers are happy to take you through the entire process of tea making. See yourself how the orthodox method is still in use. Have a sip of a hot cup of tea in the morning and buy the finest tea dust to take back home.
Time to bid good bye. Head back to Munnar and we will drop you at the resort.
